About Kevin

Meet Kevin

My identity as a clinical psychologist comes from my personal journey through the kind of  experiences that education and training could not prepare me for. As an Iraq combat veteran, war showed me that some experiences can seem impossible to forget or overcome. As the VA National Bereavement Director, I witnessed survivors face overwhelming loss and grief. These experiences live in me, and they are at the heart of my life’s calling to come along side those in need of hope.

I’m passionate about helping individuals and couples move beyond feeling stuck to the joy of transforming growth. Clients come to therapy knowing something is off in their relationships with others, themselves, and even God. Emotions such as anger, fear, hurt, and shame can seem impossible to manage. They know that something must change, but they don’t know where to start. Those who have experienced trauma may know where to start, but it simply seems too overwhelming. This may be you. Working with a caring and experienced therapist may the place for you to start. There is one thing I know from over 20 years of practicing therapy in outpatient counseling centers, private practices, hospitals, and the military. There is hope for overcoming challenges that seem too big to face alone.

More About Kevin

As a gifted physician, my father medically treated patients while attending to their emotional and spiritual issues with great compassion. He cared for them as whole people, which inspired me to do the same. I just didn’t know how, so my journey has been one of discovery and surprises.

I always wanted to be a physician, so I got my Bachelors in Biology from Texas A&M University, where I was also Chaplain of the Corps of Cadets. I changed my path to ministry and got my masters from Dallas Theological Seminary. However, a side job at an inpatient psychiatric hospital changed everything. I found my calling and went to Biola University for my Masters and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology before joining the US Navy.

I joined Lifetouch Counseling in 2022. Collaborating with such a talented dynamic team has always been my dream. In my down time, you can find me goofing around with my oldest son, the guitar wizard, or coaching soccer with my youngest son. Otherwise, I’m at the coffee shop or on the trails trying to keep up with my Australian Shepherd, Rusty.
