We Want to Help!

We’ve joined hundreds of people on their healing path. We know how hard living with these symptoms can be. We know that you’ve tried and tried to feel better, but things haven’t changed. It’s not because you’re a failure, a problem, or even bad. It’s not because you don’t deserve good things. It something quite different.

The way you’re feeling is often because of unresolved trauma.

My guess is that you’re saying you don’t have trauma. The truth is most of us have some sort of traumatic experiences throughout our lives. Yet, we don’t recognize them as trauma. Trauma is more defined by how we internalize a situation, than how we define or classify it. Trauma at the core is something that changes our nervous system. How our brain evaluates an event, situation, or even a relationship determines if it is trauma or not. If the brain assesses something as unsafe or insecure, trauma is the result. Perceiving trauma, your brain will work to create a sense of safety or security. Read more about trauma counseling,.

That doesn’t sound so bad. Yet, the mechanisms or ways it tries to create safety or security doesn’t work. Your mind develops beliefs about how you “should be” to do this. It can believe that perfectionism, performance, or people pleasing create security and safety. Then, it will work overtime telling you to be perfect or to perform better, or to people please. But, perfection is an unrealistic goal, and so is performance. Perfection is unattainable, and performance is dependent on other people’s perspectives. People pleasing costs you what you need or want which may be sometimes reasonable, but not all the time.

You need a better solution than to be perfect or to always perform for everyone or to make everyone else happy.

These ways of being are unachievable or unrealistic. This where Brainspotting can make a significant difference. It can help your brain realize these tactics are unreasonable and don’t work.

Lifetouch Counseling’s Approach to Brainspotting

Brainspotting can access the areas of your brain that traditional talk therapy can’t. It’s hard to resolve something that you can’t reach. Consider when you know something is true in your head, but it doesn’t feel true in your heart. You can tell yourself this truth over and over yet, it doesn’t change the feeling in your heart. Brainspotting is great for helping your heart begin feeling what you know is true in your head.

Our Brainspotting therapists are trained to work with the way your built as a human. We want to help you experience the healing that Brainspotting can achieve.

What’s holding you back from starting your healing process?

You feel uneasy letting someone else in on how you’re coping. The truth is that sharing with someone else that can accept and care about what it’s like for you can be quite healing. Furthermore, after working with so many other people, we know that you’re not alone in how you feel inside. In fact, surprising as it is, a lot of people are feeling the same way you are. When you have someone alongside you guiding the way and caring about you as you go, it’s easier to feel better.

We know your life is busy, and that adding one more thing can feel overwhelming. Online sessions are available as well to make counseling easier to attend. Brainspotting works well via telehealth if that is your preferred method of attendance.
